Kim Jong-un Impressed by Russian Aerospace Technology During Visit
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed his deep impression of the advanced state of Russian aerospace and aviation technology during his visit to Russia this week, according to Pyongyang’s state media. Following a summit with President Vladimir Putin, Kim visited the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant, which produces advanced fighter jets like the Sukhoi Su-35.
Kim praised Russia’s aviation technology and expressed his hope for sustained development of the plant. He also appreciated the contributions of the plant’s officials, scientists, technicians, and workers. Founded in 1934, the plant played a significant role during World War II and is now Russia’s largest Su-type fighter jet manufacturer. Kim is expected to continue his visit to Vladivostok and meet Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
