Kharge Confronts Modi on BJP’s Poaching of Opposition Leaders
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge revealed his recent conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the BJP’s alleged strategy of enticing leaders from opposition parties. Speaking at a state-level training camp in Lonavala, Kharge expressed concern over leaders defecting to the BJP, branding such actions as cowardice.
During a tea meeting in Parliament, Kharge confronted Modi, questioning the BJP’s appetite for poaching leaders. Modi responded by stating that people were willingly joining the BJP due to their appreciation of the government’s work. Kharge emphasized the importance of standing firm against such poaching tactics, urging party workers to remain resolute.
He cited Rahul Gandhi’s promise of legal protection for minimum support price (MSP) as a crucial agenda welcomed by the masses, particularly amid ongoing farmer protests. Despite allegations of increasing unemployment and Modi’s purported falsehoods, Kharge warned of potential disaster if the public continues to support such actions, fearing a decline in democracy and the erosion of constitutional values.
