Kerala Child Development Officer Suspended for Workplace Prayer

In Thrissur, Kerala, Child Development Officer K.A. Bindhu has been suspended following an investigation that found her guilty of organizing a prayer at the workplace to eliminate “negative energy.”

The incident occurred when a contract employee, acting on Bindhu’s alleged instructions, wore a ceremonial Christian robe and conducted a prayer session in October.

District Collector Krishna Teja ordered a probe into the matter, leading to Bindhu’s suspension. The officer believed that the office building was affected by negative energy and sought to cleanse it through the prayer session, which resulted in the disciplinary action.
