Karnataka Police Initiate Probe into ‘Love Jihad’ and Sexual Exploitation Case Following Social Media Posts

Karnataka Police have commenced an investigation into a case involving allegations of ‘love jihad’ and sexual exploitation after a woman reported the incident on social media. The woman posted her appeal for help on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claiming to be a victim of ‘love jihad,’ rape, unnatural sex, and forceful religious conversion.

In response, Bengaluru Police requested her residential address details to facilitate necessary action. The victim later posted an update, expressing gratitude to DCP Whitefield in Bengaluru for taking her FIR on priority and assuring her family’s security. She stated her preference for no media involvement and her satisfaction with the police handling of the case. The jurisdictional Bellandur police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
