Karnataka Lokayukta Police Nab Mudigere BEO in Bribery Case
In a significant anti-corruption operation, Karnataka Lokayukta Police apprehended Hemanth Raju, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Mudigere, while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000.
The arrest followed a complaint by a widow whose husband, a government school teacher, passed away on May 15. The woman had applied for a compensatory job, and the BEO, along with his assistant Basheer Ahmed, demanded ₹15,000 for recommending her. The complainant, armed with audio evidence, reported the incident to the police, leading to the successful operation and arrest of the BEO.
