Karnataka High Court Orders Re-Examination for 545 Police Sub-Inspector Posts
In a significant decision, the Karnataka High Court has ordered the re-examination of 545 Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) posts, quashing a petition challenging it. The division bench upheld the Karnataka government’s order in this regard. The petition was submitted by selected candidates who requested the court to facilitate their recruitment.
The PSI recruitment exam scandal came to light during the previous BJP government’s tenure, leading to a judicial probe by the incumbent Congress government. Over 110 individuals, including an ADGP-ranked officer, have been arrested in connection with the scam. Allegations of irregularities emerged when candidates with poor performance in descriptive writing received maximum marks in Paper 2.
The re-examination decision follows a series of controversies and investigations into the PSI recruitment process.
