Karnataka High Court Grants Interim Anticipatory Bail to Bhavani Revanna Amidst Sexual Assault Allegations
The Karnataka High Court issued an interim anticipatory bail to JD(S) leader Bhavani Revanna in an alleged abduction case, directing her to cooperate with the Special Investigating Team (SIT) by appearing before them on June 7. Stressing that this bail is temporary and not a cause for celebration, the court suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant against her until further notice.
Justice Krishna S. Dixit outlined conditions for her bail, including staying away from specific districts and cooperating with the investigation. The SIT, accusing her of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the abduction, secured the warrant after she failed to meet with them despite prior assurances. The court adjourned further proceedings to the next week, amid ongoing disputes regarding the sequence of events leading to the warrant. Bhavani Revanna faces allegations of conspiring to abduct a former house help, embroiled in sexual abuse allegations against her son, former MP Prajwal Revanna.
