Karnataka Health Minister Opens Doors to Private Sector Collaboration in Healthcare

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has expressed the state government’s openness to collaborating with the private sector to enhance healthcare services. Rao made this statement while inaugurating the ‘Manipal Ambulance Response Service – Neonatal-care on Wheels’ (MARS-NOW) in Bengaluru. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the health of the people and providing cost-effective treatment, including exploring partnerships with private entities.

The MARS-NOW initiative, launched by Manipal Hospitals, aims to provide continuous medical support to infants requiring emergency Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care during transportation to the hospital. This service will benefit not only patients visiting Manipal Hospitals but also residents of Bengaluru and its peripheral regions in need of such critical care. H. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Hospitals, highlighted their commitment to compassionate neonatal care and expertise in this field.
