Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged the Central government to take suitable measures to assist farmers in the state who are grappling with a severe drought situation. He explained that 195 taluks in Karnataka have been declared drought-prone, causing significant crop damage. Despite green fields, farmers are facing low yields due to a lack of rainfall.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for the Central government to understand the gravity of the situation and take steps to support farmers. Additionally, he called for an increase in crop loss compensation and highlighted the importance of addressing the water shortage issue in certain districts, like Kodagu.
