Karnataka Aims to Double Defence Production and Increase Exports
Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister, M.B. Patil, announced on Friday that the state government has set ambitious targets to nearly double its defence production by 2025 and increase defence exports to Rs 25,000 crore.
Additionally, the government aims to attract investments of Rs 45,000 crore in the aerospace and defence sector over the next five years, generating approximately 60,000 employment opportunities. Patil emphasized the state’s commitment to becoming a hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing, including maintenance, repair, and operations for both the Indian market and exports.
Karnataka is already a significant player in the aerospace and defence industry, with 25% of India’s aircraft and spacecraft industry located in the state.
