Kannada Organizations Plan ‘Delhi Chalo’ Protest Over Cauvery River Water Release

Kannada organizations, led by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, have announced a ‘Delhi Chalo’ program to protest against the release of Cauvery River water to Tamil Nadu. The activists are planning to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 18. They will travel to New Delhi by train and flights from Karnataka, and Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Narayana Gowda will join the protest from Bengaluru.

The Delhi Kannada Sangha will also participate in the demonstration. The activists have sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request his intervention in the Cauvery dispute. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is also expected to meet the protesting groups.
