Under the leadership of King Abdullah II, Jordan’s air force executed a critical humanitarian mission by air-dropping urgent medical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza. The King emphasized that this act is their duty to support their Palestinian brothers and sisters who have been affected by the conflict in Gaza. The delivery was prompted by the hospital’s dwindling supplies due to delays in transferring aid through the Rafah border crossing.
Notably, Israeli military sources confirmed that the Royal Jordanian Air Force’s aid drop had been conducted with the knowledge and approval of the Israel Defense Forces. Jordan’s commitment to aiding Gaza and its people is evident as the country recalled its ambassador from Israel on November 1 in protest of the ongoing bombardment.
The return of the envoy is contingent upon Israel’s cessation of hostilities, addressing the humanitarian crisis, and respecting the rights of Palestinians to food, water, medicine, and a secure life on their own land. Jordan continues to advocate for a comprehensive and just peace between Palestine and Israel, founded on a two-state solution along the 1967 borders, which would enable the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
