Job Scam Unearthed: Trio Arrested for Cheating Job Aspirants in Star Hotel Interviews
The Job Racket Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has apprehended three suspects, including two women, accused of duping over 100 job aspirants by falsely promising positions in Central and State government departments or nationalized banks. The suspects, identified as Renuga (60), Shyamaleeswari (35), and Reggie Gnana Prakasam (34), conducted interviews at star hotels, posing as officers of these institutions to gain the trust of victims.
The scam came to light after a complainant, Palani of Madhavaram reported that he paid ₹3.37 lakh in 2019 to secure a job at the State Bank of India, but the promised position never materialized. The investigation uncovered a larger racket, revealing that the gang collected a total of ₹4.5 crore from over 100 individuals.
In a separate case, the Job Racket Wing arrested two women running a consultancy firm, Mercy Deepika (41) and V. Nithya Lakshmi (42), accused of cheating 25 individuals by promising teacher posts for a total sum of ₹1 crore.
