Jharkhand Minister Remanded to Six-Day ED Custody

Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case, has been remanded to the custody of the central agency for six days by a PMLA court in Ranchi.

Mr. Alam was arrested after a six-hour interrogation by the ED at its office in Ranchi. He was questioned by the federal agency for over nine hours on Tuesday, and his statement was recorded. Alam, who represents the Pakur seat in the Jharkhand Assembly, serves as the State Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
