Israeli Warplanes Strike Southern Lebanon Amid Escalating Tensions
Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike on the outskirts of Marwahin in southern Lebanon, firing two air-to-surface missiles, according to Lebanese military sources. A thick plume of black smoke was seen rising from the targeted area, and Israeli military and reconnaissance aircraft were reportedly flying over Lebanon’s airspace.
In response, Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based armed group and political party, launched a guided Kornet missile at an Israeli military site in southwest Lebanon, resulting in one Israeli soldier killed and three others injured. The situation has escalated on the Lebanese-Israeli border following a series of incidents, including Hezbollah firing missiles towards Israeli military sites. These actions are part of increased tensions in the region.
