Israeli Forces Uncover Tunnels and Weapons in Gaza Hospitals Amid Ongoing Conflict
Israeli forces have intensified searches in Gaza’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa, and others in the area, uncovering an underground tunnel beneath Al-Shifa and a complex web of tunnels under Rantisi Hospital. The IDF spokesman, Daniel Hagari, reported finding a vehicle with significant ammunition below Al-Shifa and many weapons at Al-Quds Hospital.
The remains of Yehudit Weiss, abducted by Hamas militants, were extracted from a structure adjacent to Al-Shifa. Despite the IDF’s claims, Al-Shifa’s director, Muhammad Abu Salamiya, denied evidence of a central Hamas military headquarters in the hospital. The raids have disrupted medical services, leaving critical patients in dire conditions.
Gaza faces a severe shortage of medical supplies, electricity, water, food, and fuel. The blockade also led to a total blackout, cutting off internet and telephone services. The conflict escalated as Hamas claimed responsibility for a deadly shooting near Jerusalem, and Israeli forces struck the residence of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
The death toll in Gaza has risen to 11,078, with casualties in Israel and the West Bank also increasing. The humanitarian situation worsens as the Palestinian Red Crescent Society struggles to respond to calls for help amid a siege on Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
