Israeli Airstrike Kills Hamas Commander’s Relatives in Gaza
Relatives of Mohammed al-Deif, the chief commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip. An Israeli warplane targeted al-Deif’s brother’s house in Khan Younis city, resulting in the destruction of the house and the deaths of the commander’s brother, as well as the latter’s son and daughter.
It’s unknown whether al-Deif was present in the house at the time of the bombing. The airstrike also caused injuries to several individuals. Tensions in the region have escalated with Israel launching airstrikes in response to a recent attack by Hamas.
