Israel Strikes Hezbollah Target in Response to Drone Fire from Southern Lebanon

On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they struck a Hezbollah target in southern Lebanon in response to the infiltration of unidentified aerial objects into Israel and fire on an IDF unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The IDF intercepted two such objects above the northern city of Haifa, close to the Lebanese border.

An earlier infiltration of an unidentified object occurred near the city of Shfar’am in northern Israel. The exchange of rocket fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has been ongoing in recent days. Hezbollah, with strong backing from Iran, is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the UK and the US.
