IPL 2025: RCB’s Dinesh Karthik Blames Difficult Pitch, Plans Talk with Curator

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has spoken out after their tough match in the IPL 2025. He clearly said the pitch made batting very difficult. RCB struggled to score runs, and Karthik believes the pitch conditions played a major role in that.

After the match, Karthik addressed the media and gave his honest opinion. “The pitch didn’t help the batters. It was hard to play shots, and the ball didn’t come onto the bat nicely,” he explained. He added that RCB will soon speak to the pitch curator to understand why the surface played that way.

“The pitch challenged every batter. We couldn’t play freely. We’ll definitely have a word with the curator and try to understand what went wrong,” he said.

Karthik’s comments came after RCB failed to chase a low target. Many of their top-order players got out quickly and couldn’t find any rhythm. Even experienced batters found it tough to rotate the strike or hit boundaries.

Fans also noticed the poor pitch conditions during the match. Balls stayed low, and some bounced unexpectedly, making shot selection tricky. Several players lost their wickets while trying to adjust to the unpredictable bounce.

Despite the loss, Karthik praised the team’s fighting spirit. “We didn’t give up. The bowlers did a great job. But we need to fix a few things before the next match,” he said.

RCB plans to review the pitch report and speak with the stadium staff. The team wants to ensure better conditions in upcoming games, especially for the sake of fairness and quality cricket.

“We want fans to enjoy good matches. For that, we need balanced pitches. Batters and bowlers should both get a fair chance,” Karthik said before wrapping up the press interaction.

With more matches ahead, RCB will look to bounce back strongly. The team hopes to learn from this game and improve its performance in the next fixture.
