Intensified Search Operations Follow Kathua Ambush, 60 Detained for Questioning

In response to the deadly ambush on an Army patrol in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have intensified search operations across the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda belt. The attack, which claimed the lives of five Army personnel and left as many injured on July 8, has prompted the detention of 60 individuals for questioning.

Among them are three suspects accused of providing food and shelter to the terrorists involved. Security agencies are focusing efforts on hilly and forested areas, deploying additional Army personnel and utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles for surveillance. Special forces and sniffer dog units have been mobilized in challenging terrain characterized by dense forests and adverse weather conditions, underscoring efforts to prevent the escape of terrorists and ensure public safety in the region.
