Ingenious Tactics Employed by Farmers Amid Tear Gas Attacks
As tear gas shells continue to rain down on protesting farmers at Shambhu, located on the Punjab-Haryana boundary, inventive methods are emerging as a means of defense. Farmers, facing the burning sensation caused by tear gas, are resorting to unconventional remedies. Some are applying toothpaste or a mixture of Multani mitti and water to soothe their skin and eyes.
Others are using paddy winnowing fans to redirect the smoke from tear gas shells. Additionally, on Basant Panchami, farmers took to flying kites, inadvertently disrupting police drones. Despite the challenging circumstances, farmers remain resilient, employing whatever means available to protect themselves. However, the tear gas attacks persist, resulting in injuries and discomfort among the protestors.
