India’s Diplomatic Protest Against Canada’s Handling of Khalistani Extremists

India has lodged a formal protest with Canada, expressing deep concern over Khalistani extremists conducting a “citizens court” and burning effigies of the Indian Prime Minister outside the Indian consulate in Vancouver. The protest, conveyed via a diplomatic note to the Canadian high commission, strongly objected to the actions of these separatist elements and criticized the Canadian government, led by Justin Trudeau, for allowing space to Khalistani separatists.

The protest comes amidst strained India-Canada relations, exacerbated by Trudeau’s previous allegations linking Indian agents to the killing of Khalistan extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. India has consistently emphasized its issue with Canada providing political space to anti-India elements advocating extremism and violence, urging Ottawa to take robust measures against such activities on Canadian soil.
