Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Adviser, underscored the detrimental effects of undefined borders in the west and north on the country’s stability. He emphasized that these ambiguous borders contribute to challenges such as terrorism, radicalism, and drug trafficking, posing a significant liability to India’s internal security.
Doval highlighted that India’s economic progress has been hampered by the lack of secure borders, especially with China to the north and Pakistan to the west. He stressed the importance of technological advancements in border management, stating that reliance solely on manpower is insufficient. Furthermore, he pointed out the need for infrastructure development tailored to specific border theatres and emphasized the importance of tactical intelligence gathering and cooperation with border populations for effective border security.
