Indian-Origin Student Arrested for Pro-Palestine Protest at Princeton
Achinthya Sivalingan, an Indian-origin student at Princeton University, was arrested and barred from campus for participating in pro-Palestine protests. Along with another student, Sivalingan was arrested after setting up tents for a student-led pro-Palestine encampment on campus.
The students face disciplinary action and have been banned from campus following the protest. The demonstration, which turned into a sit-in, involved about 100 undergraduate and graduate students, demanding colleges to cut financial ties with Israel. Despite warnings from University officials, the protesters continued their sit-in, prompting the arrests.
