Indian Naval Ships Strengthen Ties with Singapore Navy during South China Sea Deployment
Three Indian Naval Ships, Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan, have arrived in Singapore for a three-day visit as part of the operational deployment of the Navy’s Eastern Fleet to the South China Sea. Led by Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar, the ships reached the Changi naval base in Singapore on Monday. The visit aims to underscore the strong linkages between the Indian and Singaporean navies.
The ships will depart for Malaysia on Thursday before visiting the Philippines. This deployment comes amidst tensions in the South China Sea, where the Chinese navy is engaged in a standoff with the US-backed Philippines navy. During their stay in Singapore, various activities are planned, including interactions with the Singapore Navy, the Indian High Commission, academia, and community outreach. This visit is poised to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two maritime nations through a series of engagements and activities, reflecting the shared values of both navies.
