Indian Coast Guard Conducts Successful Rescue Operation and Announces Coastal Security Exercise

Personnel of the Indian Coast Guard executed a successful rescue operation, saving eight survivors of the sunken boat MSV Varartha Rajan (CLR 192) off the coast of Lakshadweep. The boat encountered technical issues and water seepage during its inter-island passage from Agatti to Androth, leading to a three-day ordeal at sea.

Swift action by the Coast Guard resulted in the timely rescue of all survivors by personnel aboard ICGS Saksham. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard announced the upcoming coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach,’ aimed at coordinating efforts among various security agencies to combat sea-borne threats.
