Indian Air Force Base in Lucknow Set for Major Expansion

The Indian Air Force’s 38 Wing base located in Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow, is slated for a significant expansion to accommodate multiple air operations. Currently, the base primarily houses Jaguar fighters and serves as the secondary home for the Surya Kiran aerobatic team, which conducts training sorties. The expansion aims to transform the base into a comprehensive facility capable of handling fighter jets and cargo aircraft.

The move is part of the IAF’s broader strategy to upgrade and expand its existing bases across the country to meet evolving operational requirements. This development marks a significant milestone in the base’s history, originally established in 1963 and later transformed into the 38 Wing in 2014.
