India Rebukes Pakistan for UNGA Remarks on Ayodhya and CAA
India delivered a scathing rebuke to Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly, characterizing its references to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as regressive and out of touch with global progress. Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, described Pakistan’s remarks as reminiscent of a “broken record” that remains stagnant while the world advances.
She emphasized the need for wisdom, depth, and a global perspective, qualities she suggested were lacking in Pakistan’s delegation. The resolution on ‘Measures to combat Islamophobia’ was adopted by the General Assembly, with 115 nations in favor, none against, and 44 abstentions, including India and other prominent nations.
