India Lodges Strong Protest Against German Comments on Kejriwal’s Arrest
India has summoned the German deputy chief of mission to express a strong protest against Germany’s foreign ministry’s remarks regarding the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs conveyed that such comments are viewed as interference in India’s judicial process and undermine the independence of the judiciary. Emphasizing India’s vibrant democracy and the rule of law, the MEA stressed that biased assumptions about legal cases are unwarranted. The summoning of the German envoy underscores India’s firm stance on maintaining the integrity of its judicial system and sovereignty over internal affairs.
