India Hosts First ‘Female Military Officers Course’ for ASEAN Nations

India has achieved a significant milestone in its military diplomacy by conducting its inaugural “Female Military Officers Course” for officers from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries. The course, concluded on Friday, aligns with the Indian Army’s vision for gender neutrality and women’s empowerment, following the UN framework. Organized under the Ministry of Defence’s leadership, the course aims to enhance leadership competencies, strategic capabilities, and operational efficiency among female officers while fostering cross-cultural interaction and mutual professional development.

It also emphasizes India’s role in UN peacekeeping, with the course conducted by the Centre for UN Peacekeeping in India, known globally for its peacekeeping training and deployments. Participants had the unique opportunity to witness UN peacekeeping drills, providing insights into India’s high standards in international peace missions.
