India Extends Humanitarian Support to Papua New Guinea After Deadly Landslide
India has demonstrated solidarity with Papua New Guinea by dispatching 19 tonnes of humanitarian and disaster relief supplies to the Enga Province, which recently suffered a catastrophic landslide claiming over 2,000 lives.
This aid follows India’s earlier commitment of $1 million to support the island nation in its recovery efforts. The swift response underscores India’s strong partnership with Papua New Guinea as a member of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC), highlighting India’s ongoing efforts to foster regional cooperation and support in times of crisis.
