India Expels Canadian Diplomat Amid Diplomatic Tensions
Amid worsening diplomatic relations between India and Canada, New Delhi has expelled a senior Canadian diplomat stationed in India, instructing them to leave the country within the next five days. This decision follows Canada’s earlier expulsion of a high-ranking Indian diplomat.
Tensions escalated after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of involvement in the fatal shooting of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has vehemently rejected these claims, terming them as “absurd and motivated.” The move reflects India’s growing concern over alleged interference by Canadian diplomats in its internal matters and their involvement in what it perceives as anti-India activities.
