India Celebrates 75 Years of the Constitution’s Adoption
President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 75th Constitution Day celebrations with a joint address to both Houses of Parliament, emphasizing the Constitution as a living and progressive document. Commemorating the adoption on November 26, 1949, and its enforcement on January 26, 1950, the government has launched a year-long campaign titled Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman.
A new website, https://constitution75.com, has been introduced to engage citizens with the Constitution’s legacy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Supreme Court’s celebrations later today, where he is scheduled to unveil the Indian Judiciary’s annual report for 2023-24.
