India and South Korea Look to Broaden Strategic Partnership
During the 10th India-South Korea Joint Commission Meeting (JCM), External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed India’s desire to expand its strategic partnership with South Korea. Highlighting the elevation of bilateral relations to a special strategic partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2015 visit to South Korea, Jaishankar emphasized the need to live up to that status.
He emphasized the importance of exploring new areas of cooperation such as critical and emerging technologies, semiconductors, green hydrogen, and human resource mobility to modernize bilateral ties. Jaishankar also noted growing convergence in views on international issues, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, underscoring the importance of stability, security, and prosperity in the region.
