India has accused Canada of tainting the investigation into the killing of pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar by dragging India’s name into it without providing any evidence. Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, expressed concerns that the investigation has been tainted, as Canada had accused India of being behind Nijjar’s killing, despite not providing concrete evidence.
He emphasized that conversations between diplomats are protected by international law and cannot be used as evidence or publicly released. While Verma called for India and Canada to maintain business ties and address the core issue of checking Khalistan supporters, he expressed concerns about his and other diplomats’ safety after threats were issued by pro-Khalistani elements.
