Income Tax Searches Conducted in Telangana, Targeting BRS MLA Bhaskara Rao
The Income Tax Department initiated searches at various locations in Telangana, including Hyderabad, Nalgonda, and Miryalaguda. These searches, conducted by several teams, targeted the premises of BRS MLA and Miryalaguda constituency candidate, N. Bhaskara Rao. Approximately 30 teams were reportedly involved in searches at Rao’s residence, his relatives’ homes, associates, and individuals suspected of having business ties with him.
The raids were prompted by allegations that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader possessed funds intended for voter distribution. I-T officials also investigated the financial records of rice mill owners during the searches. While denying the raids, Bhaskara Rao accused political rivals of orchestrating a campaign to tarnish his image.
The searches align with recent I-T actions targeting candidates from various political parties in the run-up to the Telangana Assembly elections scheduled for November 30.
