Impostor Arrested for Misusing High Court Judge’s Name to Secure Engineering Seat
Justice N. Anand Venkatesh of the Madras High Court discovered that an impostor had misused his name to secure an engineering seat at a prestigious private college in Chennai. Acting on a complaint filed by the judge’s personal assistant, the High Court police arrested the individual responsible for falsely claiming to be the judge’s personal secretary.
The impostor had approached the college, posing as the judge’s secretary, and sought admission for a student claiming to be the judge’s son. The judge’s personal security officer intervened by contacting the person using the provided phone number.
The suspect was apprehended and found in possession of a card identifying himself as a non-judicial member of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. A case has been registered against him for cheating, impersonation, and related offenses.
