IMF approves USD 1.1 billion tranche for Pakistan bailout package
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the immediate disbursal of USD 1.1 billion to Pakistan as part of a bailout package aimed at stabilizing the country’s economy. This decision came after the completion of the second and final review of Pakistan’s economic reform program supported by the IMF’s Stand-By Arrangement (SBA).
With this disbursement, the total amount received by Pakistan under the SBA reached around USD 3 billion. The IMF stressed the need for Pakistan to implement tough measures to bring its economy back on track, emphasizing the importance of sound macroeconomic policies and structural reforms for achieving stronger, inclusive, and sustainable growth.
