IMD Issues Alerts as Southwest Monsoon Intensifies in Kerala

Kerala is on alert as the Southwest monsoon gains momentum, prompting the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an Orange Alert for Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts.

These areas are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, posing potential risks of flooding and waterlogging. Additionally, the IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for several other districts in the state, including Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, and Kasargode, indicating moderately heavy rainfall.
