IISc Bengaluru to Conduct GATE 2024 Examination

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru will organize the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for the year 2024. GATE is a national-level examination conducted by IISc and seven IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The examination evaluates candidates’ comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate-level subjects in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities.

Successful GATE qualifiers can seek admission to master’s and direct doctoral programmes, with potential financial support, in institutions supported by MoE and other government agencies. GATE scores are also used by PSUs and other organizations for recruitment purposes.

The 2024 GATE examination will have 30 computer-based test papers in English. The scores obtained will remain valid for three years from the result announcement date. A new test paper on “Data Science and Artificial Intelligence” has been introduced, reflecting the growing demand in these fields. The application portal is expected to open in late August 2023, and the exam will be held on February 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th, 2024.
