Hyderabad Police Sub-Inspector Arrested for Concealing and Selling Seized Drugs
A police sub-inspector in Hyderabad, K. Rajendra, has been apprehended for allegedly withholding a portion of drugs confiscated during a raid. Rajendra, who worked in the Cyber Crime station of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, reportedly kept approximately 1,775 grams of MDMA and was attempting to sell it. After seizing the drugs during a raid connected to a cybercrime case in Maharashtra, Rajendra failed to disclose the confiscated substances to higher authorities.
The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) launched an investigation upon receiving information about his actions. The drugs were later seized from Rajendra’s residence, and he was arrested and sent to judicial remand. Notably, Rajendra had previously faced charges of bribery while serving at the Raidurgam Police Station and had been convicted and sentenced to two years.
Although he had been ordered to be dismissed from service, he obtained a stay from a higher court and was subsequently transferred to the cybercrime wing.
