The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) revealed that only 100 aid trucks entered Gaza from Egypt via the Rafah border in the last 24 hours, a stark decline from the average during the humanitarian pause. Amid renewed Israeli attacks, only 69,000 liters of fuel entered Gaza, mirroring the previous day’s amount.
The current situation falls significantly below the levels observed between November 24 to 30. Since Israel resumed its offensive on December 1, hostilities have intensified, marked by widespread bombardments and rocket fire. The toll on Gaza has been severe, with at least 349 Palestinians killed and 750 injured since the renewal of the conflict.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator Lynn Hastings expressed deep concern, stating that the conditions for aid delivery in Gaza are nonexistent, warning of a looming public health disaster. The death toll since the war began on October 7 has now reached at least 15,899 Palestinians in Gaza, predominantly women and children, while in Israel, over 1,200, including foreign nationals, have lost their lives.
