Hotelier Robbery: Three Arrested for Chilli Powder Attack

Three suspects have been apprehended by the Ashok Nagar police in connection with the robbery of a 43-year-old hotelier, L. Amarnath. The incident occurred on Monday night as Amarnath was walking home after closing his hotel in West Mambalam. The suspects, arriving on a two-wheeler, accosted him at the junction of Thiruvenkadam Street and Thambaiya Street.

Employing a tactic of sprinkling chilli powder on his face, they allegedly snatched his five-sovereign gold chain and swiftly fled the scene. Following a thorough investigation, the police identified and arrested V. Karthik Kumar, 30, of Ashok Nagar, G. Naveen Kumar, 20, of Jafferkhanpet, and L. Praveen, 19, of Saidapet. The seized items include the stolen gold chain and the motorcycle used in the crime.
