In anticipation of Telangana’s imminent 10th formation anniversary on June 2, 2014, the Congress-led government in the state has embarked on plans for elaborate celebrations, gaining clearance from the Election Commission of India (ECI). A key highlight of the festivities includes a public gathering to honor Sonia Gandhi, a pivotal figure in the state’s establishment.
The proposed resolution, moved by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and unanimously approved by the State Cabinet, aims to recognize all individuals who contributed to Telangana’s realization as a separate entity. To formalize the event, the government is set to submit a formal request to the ECI for permission to proceed with the celebratory arrangements.
