Heightened Security Measures for Amarnath Yatra 2024
In preparation for the annual Amarnath yatra set to commence on June 29, extensive security arrangements have been implemented to safeguard pilgrims. Following recent terror incidents in the Jammu region, including attacks targeting pilgrims, authorities have intensified security with a robust deployment of police, CRPF, ITBP, and other paramilitary forces along the yatra route.
Aerial surveillance, CCTV monitoring from Qazigund to Pahalgam and Baltal base camps, and constant vigilance by spotters are part of the stringent security protocols. Kashmir Zone Police chief VK Birdi has emphasized rigorous patrolling and immediate response capabilities to mitigate any potential threats, ensuring a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience for all participants.
