Heavy Rain Causes Casualties and Disruption in Shulan, China
As of 10 p.m. Sunday, heavy rain in Shulan, Jilin Province, northeast China, resulted in the death of fourteen people, with one person still missing, according to local authorities. Water levels in reservoirs and major rivers have receded to safe levels.
Shulan endured continuous rainy weather since Tuesday night, but this round of rain has mostly subsided. The local government has activated rescue forces to relocate residents, repair roads, and restore power and communication, aiming to bring back normalcy to people’s lives.
