Heavy rain caused Hyderbad lives out of gear
Heavy rains in Hyderabad on July 20 led to flooding in several areas, including Nagole, Rajendranagar, and Qutbullahpur. The Government Unani Hospital in the Charminar area also faced issues as the roof started leaking, prompting the discharge or relocation of patients to safer locations. The damage was particularly severe in colonies situated close to water bodies, where lakes overflowed or surplus canals were insufficient.
GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose and senior officials inspected the IDL Lake, which caused flooding in low-lying areas of Moosapet after sluice gates were opened as a precautionary measure. Additionally, encroachments on the surplus canal allowed the floodwater to inundate nearby colonies. Mr. Rose also visited Suraram Lake in Gajularamaram, where surplus flows led to flooding in colonies like Balaji Enclave and Vokshith Enclave.
