Heatwave Grips Odisha and Jharkhand, Mercury Soars
Odisha and parts of Jharkhand are currently reeling under severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring above 40° Celsius. In Odisha, Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature at 43.8° Celsius, followed by several other cities experiencing temperatures above 43° Celsius. The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that the maximum temperature will rise by 2-4 notches over the next four days, extending the heatwave till April 29.
A red alert for severe heatwave has been issued for nine districts in Odisha. Similarly, in Jharkhand, temperatures exceeding 40° Celsius have been recorded across various regions, with the meteorological department issuing a heatwave alert for several divisions until April 29.
