Harsh Sentence for Child Sexual Assault in Kalaburagi

In a decisive judgment, Kalaburagi’s Additional District and Sessions Court sentenced Moulasab, a resident of Taj Sultanpur, to 20 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl. Convicted under the POCSO Act, the court also imposed a ₹20,000 fine. The assault occurred on August 25, 2023, when the convict lured the minor with chocolates.

Judge Yamanappa Bammanagi additionally sentenced him to five years for kidnapping under the IPC, with both sentences to run concurrently. The Legal Services Authority was directed to compensate the victim with ₹7 lakh within a month.
