Harish Rao Demands Farm Relief in Telangana
Bharat Rashtra Samith senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao has condemned the Congress government in Telangana for its alleged negligence towards the farming community, citing unfulfilled promises of crop loan waivers and inadequate support amid crop losses. Rao demanded an immediate waiver of ₹2 lakh crop loans per farmer, as pledged before the Assembly polls, and compensation of ₹25,000 per acre for crop losses affecting 20 lakh acres due to water scarcity.
Expressing solidarity with farmers, he warned of protests and pledged support in their struggle for financial relief and other grievances. Despite assurances from the Chief Minister, Rao criticized the lack of tangible steps towards fulfilling commitments, emphasizing the need for urgent action to alleviate the distress faced by farmers.
